Of course Artest is on my Fantasy NBA squad. (along with those other model citizens Alan Iverson and Nick Van Exel. *sigh*)

Hopefully nothing, concidering if they didn't try to be billy badass and walk onto the court they never would have gotten their faces rearranged. The guy that Jermaine O'neal decked straight up tackled Artest while he was swinging with the other guy who came onto the court.

Some of you are trying to make it sound like these guys are victims or something...when they are the ones who put themselves in that position. If anything they should be charged with trespassing...or at least capital stupidity for trying to take on a professional athlete. Was Artest just supposed to stand there while this guy beat his ass??? They both asked for it, they both got it. Maybe they will think twice before trying to get on TV showing out and "keeping it real" for their homies...or whatever.

                Shame, shame, pity shame

I think from now own the nba will try to get there players off the court ASAP after an altercation. Artest should not have been lying on the scorer's table to cool down, they should have got him to the locker-room right after all that shananigan.

Any bets on seeing this type of ending again in the near future?

I was thinking the same thing!!! Mr. Hothead himself, acting like a model citizen. I was extremely surprised.

What I find interesting about this little piece of drama, is how it has presented to opportunity for so many to bring their previously veiled racism out into the light of day, as if the wrong doing by a few members of a particular race have now substantiated all previously existing prejudice. Way to burn that cross.

chris rock said it best " there's a difference bewteen a nigga and a black man, a black will say " sorry that your house got robbed" the nigga sold you wife's ring."(not exactly quoted i know.) but ron artest sold the ring on friday. even worse was jackson. personally i feel bad for jackson, b/c every decent civil prosecutor is drooling over finding out the names of some of the people he was hitting. he most likely will be losing a few years salaries in the end. whatever, its the stupid culture of being hard and gettin respect that dooms these ghetto assholes.

All of this and not one mention of the provocation from the fans that caused the whole "going into the stands" incident in the first place.

It's all the million dollar athletes fault right??? The poor innocent fans were senselessly attacked for no reason, right? The guy who threw the cup, who it is now known to have numerous convictions for assault, DUI and should not even have been drinking as it was in violation of his paroll is in no way a "ghetto asshole", right? The fan who stepped on the court and put his fists up to Artest was also attacked without provovation, right? The fan who threw the drink all over Artest as he was wrestling with the first guy (granted he was the wrong guy, but hey) did nothing for Stephen Jackson to clock him upside his head, right?

Being hard and getting respect is hardly an issue in this situation. I in no way am "hard" or try to get respect, but if one of my teammates, friends, brother, whatever is in that same situation, sorry...I'm going in. The guy who threw the drink started punching Artest in the head after intially acting like a peacemaker. So Artest was in no way justified in turning around and smacking the shit out of him? Bottom line..they are just, if not more responsible for the way that brawl turned out. And that's not even saying anything about the classless lowlifes who threw chairs and bottles at the Pacers as they tried to get off the court. If you watch the video again you can see people picking stuff up off the floor to throw at them...even though they were not involved in the altercation in the slightest. But I forgot...its all the "ghetto assholes" fault.
