thanks a lot, ddr. been listening to a lot of late 90's early 00 oakenfold before going out on a saturday night the past few weeks and the tunes he spins, especially compared to todays sets are pretty incredible. so much variation!

The late 90's was a great era for oakey. I used to love,
And still now, some of his eclectic sets like Gu oslo, and some
others sets like the essential mix " A rare treat" in 1997 that it was amazing.
mixing ambient, breaks and drum and base. I really enjoy that.

Drum and base is the best. You can go on weeks without sleep.

Not to hear an entire set of drum and base,
but yes to hear only one or two tracks mixed
properly with something else.

Have to check out his 'A Rare Treat' Essential Mix from 10-19-1997 as well.. listened to that last week, sublime stuff. That mix a long with his @ Space, Ibiza 1999 Mix as part of his Emix World Tour are the best Oakey mixes I have ever heard. His two GU contributions are pretty well done to.. apart from the mixing but that is classic Oakey
