People study and qualify in this area for good reason.

If a friend or family member needs heart surgery what do you do? Offer them support? Be around when they need you? Help out where you can? Reassure them if need be?

You don't do the surgery yourself

      Re: Random T**ugh,s

Someone could have attached jingle bells to my feet and told me I was born with them; then I go around believing it & telling the story how I was born with jingle bells on my feet. Until someone else comes along and says that's ridiculous & shows me how to cut the bells off, I could be "attached" (literally or figuratively) to that perceived reality my whole life & it could be really harmful.

If helpful and empowering, some beliefs (or attachments to particular concepts) are valuable. When they're limiting, devaluing, hurtful, and really useless, attaching meaning to perceptions and beliefs is dangerous, imo. Our world is full of cultures with wacky ideas that justify hurting ourselves or others through beliefs/ideas. It's all just conditioning.

      One of my fav quotes:
"Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities." -
      Voltaire
Beliefs, definitions of things, conclusions of oneself.... are all powerful with power to harm or help... or they are meaningless.

Sometimes people need a way to define their own emotional map (e.g., "these are the peaks, here are the valleys, this is why," etc.) and that helps them for awhile, or medication helps. Nothing wrong with that..... until it's no longer helpful. Then it's time to open up & expand your mind/views... seek out the help you need.

I've found there are just as many (if not more) wacked out/hurtful professionals with MDs and PhDs as there are good ones.

Back from my trip to Europe -- amazing time spent in Paris and Rome with the Missus. Can't say I enjoyed the 11 + 1 hour flights back to the states, but of course more than well worth the time spent traveling. Paris was incredible, I found the people to be very kind and helpful, nothing like the rumors I had heard. Highlights were riding bikes around the entire city and night, Notre Dame at night, and the best damn ice cream I've ever had on the little island near Notre Dame. Palace of Versailles and of course the Lourve. Was also cool to see Fashion Week happening, the weather was actually perfect, no rain and no humidity in either cities. Can hardly wait to return to Paris.... didn't get to make it to Concrete, I was super bummed about that, my wife just was not up for it. Travel takes a lot out of her and I am of course sensitive to that, so that's that. Rome I felt like we didn't even get to really scratch the surface of the culture their, but the food was great and people were very friendly and warm there. Got some incredible photos and videos - will share some soon.

It was fun while it lasted...

Just got back from an incredible journey to Antigua + Village of Santa Cruze/Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. I don't think it's possible to go there and not come back a changed person. The Guatemalan and Mayan people are amazing.

                      As for the country itself...beautiful-
