You could also take one rod and touch with its end the middle of the second rod. If they get closer, then you have a magnet in your hand.

went to some bar on Friday...my mate was having his birthday party...wanted to say happy birthday...ended up telling one of the bouncers to piss off and going back home. After 30 minutes of queuing and humiliation of being treated like a retarded drunk idiot...i go in get told its ten pounds per person...i put the money on the table in front of the door girl and one of the bouncers starts giving me crap..."you're are very rude! pick up the money and hand it to the lady!" i turn to him and tell him that if its come to the likes of him teaching me manners I am better off spending the night at home he tells me to piss off...i exchanged a series of "pleasantries" which will assure that i can not go back there again and then I apologise to the girl for the whole ordeal and not handing her the note and tell the guy to go fuck himself one last time.

In retrospect i may have over reacted but I was just fed up with the whole treatment...i am not a drunk animal who doesn't know how to behave and i don't need to be hoarded like livestock. So...i am only sorry for the girl and my friend really...
