A long time ago, anyone who was serious about having a night out would travel the length and breadth of this little island in hope of catching Andrew Weatherall play his records (or, Andy, as we were allowed to call him when he was younger).

Those unfortunate saturday nights when you didn't get to see him for whatever reason, you had to just make the best of somehow - find another party somewhere else.

"a man like" wasn't a term of respect then, it was a term tinged with disappointment. A way of saying that you'd missed out on seeing the top man but saw someone else having a go at filling his shoes. Sahsa's army of fans took this up and ran with it, to the amusement of everyone else.

Some fools believe it may be referring to a Sasha impersonator who actually got himself a few gigs in the early 90's as The Man Like Sasha. Where is the Ancient Aliens guy when you need him?
