OLD?? No Twilo Closed and some LAME ass club called spirit is in the old venue. Jonathan Peters has a weekly residence i think. You see though, Jp is fuckin wack...Spririt has no association with twilo, the speakers were sold off to shelter, and they are too damn loud for that shitty place, that place was magical. The bass that would make ur nipples vibrate, lol...but seriously, I duno I just miss those old times, best times Ive ever had in a club.

Well, some good news is coming to W 27th St...

A new Steve Dash Phazon system will be unveiled for Danny's Be Yourself party on the 17th and he's (SD that is) saying that it will be bigger and more powerful than the Twilo System...

          I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT.

I've not been in that room since Twilo closed... I spent many a night there in 1997 when Danny T was the Saturday night resident... When S&D were in their heyday there I was downtown @ Vinyl for Danny's Be Yourself party after he left Tunnel over the Limelight / Peter Gatien shenanigans... I went a few times but never enough to experience the true magic of the party that I've heard so much about... you couldn't tear me away from Vinyl though, those first few years were just unbelievable...

              Re: TWILO!

              ouch~

Yea Vinyl was cool, and Dt was always interacting with the crowd. It was so small I guess he had no choice lol. Nah but for real I drove down there after getting booted from another club for some bs... nm I drove down there with my boy to go to arc, and this was the night they had that fire. We were standing outside and Dt came up handing us drinks. Mad nice....Arc took over soon after and then *the seats were gone* besides the vip. Still I went for a Sasha party and Zabiela came on. That was a real hot party. Pvd did some charity shit there, it was 10$. That was actually pretty good too, it was on a monday and not many people.

if you are talking about the fire at twilo when digweed was playing (without sasha)...

there was a small fire that was in the lighting, i believe. they had everyone go out into the street for about an hour and a half, i think - had the NYFD come in and check things out, and then let everyone back in where digweed proceeded to treat those made it through the cold to one of the best sets he's played there (from what i'm told - i didn't go, and i still regeret it)

                          sigpicSimonR

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

Arc aka Vinyl was really not that good. The sound was good, that was about it. There was nowhere to sit and no booze which makes for a pretty boring club...and pretty annoying IMO. It was like going to a party in someone's basement. Not fun unless you were on something like 95% of the people there.

regardless of the no booze policy, there is no way that 95% of the people were on something. I went there many times myself and with friends and met many people there that weren't on anything. Not saying there wasn't any drugs in the place, just nowhere near 95%. The place was very much about the music and many people just came to sweat it out to the music...

Very true Ben except for when Richie Hawtin and Sven Vath came to play together. That place could have been mistaken for Amsterdam at that time.
