After a brief hiatus, we’re back with one of our strongest releases yet. Dana Bergquist and his studio partner Peder Gunnarson need no introduction after a number of works on the label, each being very well received. As a team, they’re starting to build a pretty impressive discography, releasing on labels like Urbantorque, Glideslope and Add2Basket. With Djakarta, Dana and Peder stick to the formula that’s served them well of late; uplifting house that encompasses a rich tapestry of melodies. This will sit well with prog and house DJs alike and has already seen support from quite a few big hitters.
With a number of releases on reputable Techno labels such as Matrix and Beretta, Canadian techno producer Arthur Oskan has been getting tongues wagging of late. Here he turns in a beefier version that doesn’t stray too far from the essence of the original, employing a rolling bassline and intricate percussion that carry the track along to the pad laden break.
Under a variety of guises, Glideslope head honcho Brian McDermott has a penchant for making the kind of quality deep house that his label is renowned for. He wraps the package up for us, this time turning out a remix under his Blacklight Society moniker that epitomises what we’ve come to expect from him; shimmering deep grooves that posses an inherent warmth.
