haven't had any broadband working since last week, spoke to customer services who said u will need to speak to TECH SUPPORT, but tech support have a problem at there end, so no help from anybody, wankers, will be speaking to manager for compensation.. don't join ntl

Been on 1Mbit broadband from Telewest for over 2 years now without a hitch... was even nicer when they upped it to 1.5mbit earlier this year for nothing... and then upto 2Mbit in a months time... again... for nothing. :P

This without any "download limit" either...

It goes 8 MBits to the MB right? ... So 125kb/sec would be 1Mbit/sec, right? ... I think that's right... so my connection that goes up to just about 500kb/sec would be just about 4Mbit/sec..... ? Someone let me know if I'm wrong. I hate how almost all connections (except obviously network 10BaseT/ fiber optic / direct connections) have much slower upload rates than download . I would love to upload even 100kb/sec... but I'd have to pay much more to get a connection capable of that.

i unfortunately made the mistake of moving house at the same time as they upgraded their systems. the broadband works fine, no problems, digi tv is properly fucked however and has been for the last two months.

only a small selection of the service they are billing me for actually works which prompts an ever increasingly angry phone call from myself when the bill comes every month.

still, at least i'm getting movies and sports free of charge until they can sort the rest of it out. the secret is to start saying can you speak to someone to cancel your service as you want t go to sky and then they soon cave in.

most of their telephone staff are the most unhelpful bunch of cunts i have ever had the misfortune to deal with though.

stay well clear of NTL imo. They are complete cowboys! and the tech support is dire. nothing gets fixed and u hassle them for ages but they dont give a fuk. wankers

ntl may have the worst customer support around (next to npower ) but they beat the competition on price by a mile - where else could I get 1MB broadband and a phoneline for ?17 a month?! It's been pretty solid for me recently too, but I probably would change to a more reliable (and expensive) supplier if I was relying on the internet more.

some random geordie character saying something along the lines of 'fuck off, we are ntl and we dont care what the fuck you want'.

it only calmed me temporarily before the rage returned.

Here in Argentina, Arnet Highway (property of Telecom group) wants to up your broadband to the double (e.g. 256 - 512, 512 - 1024), with a download limit of 6 gb. If you pass the limit, you have to pay 15$ per giga or fraction above it.

That's an abuse of their rights... I think you can't choose to leave the broadband as you have it right now, without limits; I'd have to check that out.
