James Holden Essential Mix 2002 Appreciation

Ive heard this before but not in a while. The other night I got a sudden urge to dig this out and let me tell you I am so glad I did. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! Always loved Holden and his work, until he went electro minimal whatever. I never really go into his mixes though except this one(and I do like Balance 5). Some Essential Mixes are just so timeless and great and this is one of them for sure.

    Opinions?

Yeah I always loved that mix. I went to see him at Slide in Oxford the week after it was broadcast and he played most of the tracks off it. Including the Beethoven & Mama's & Pappas tracks. I saw Nick Warren play that Staircase Faith track around the same time as well. I loved that track.

^ that track is strait up classic finesse. it's mixed beautifully in this epic set --> http://www.hybridized.org/sets/134

kinda wish they would work under the starecase alias more, and less under the general midi bidneh.

@ prog420: hey bro, go check out mr holden's live screen set from 2002 if you haven't already: http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/...ht=screen+sets thx to homegrove.

Cottaging is a British gay slang term referring to anonymous sex between men in a public lavatory (a cottage or tea-room), and cruising for sexual partners with the intention of having sex elsewhere. The term has its roots in self-contained English toilet blocks resembling small cottages in their appearance; in the English cant language of Polari this became a double entendre by gay men referring to sexual encounters.
