^^Mate that album changed my whole concept of dance music. Was into your usual Judge Jules vibe back then. You know the big build up then melodic break down shit that still exists today!! Was a budding DJ at the time...got hold of that album, and as i say, totally changed my views on dance music. Powerful.
I dont like it
I dont understand what is he triying to do with the new GU series
I think they are just trying to make money without having to spend to much. I'm fairly sure that the only reason that GU did the 24/7 Cd's was because Danny Howells & Lee Burridge both had contracts to do a GU Cd's before they went into liquidation and 24/7 was cheaper to do than a locations CD. Danny Howells & Lee Burridge where both quoted as saying in the 2002 DJ Magazine poll that they where looking forward to doing their first proper GU in 2003.
GU's form has been fairly poor but Nick Warren's latest was great. as for this new one from Fancuilli will have to find it, he plays Vegas in a couple of weeks see if I can find out somemore behind the release of the Comp.

Sven Vath was amazing...he played a god damn killer set...ended up going to that and came to at like 10 am in some whore house in south Amsterdam...no idea how I ended up there...friday was a bit of a blur got really drunk and visited several parties can't remember a whole lot to be honest hehe...saturday was probably the best day that I recall...started up in the nearest coffee shop and going from party to party...beautiful woman, beer and weed...finished the night by taking some shrooms and listening to an amazing elke kleijn set...sunday...i met a nice girl who worked at one of the coffee shops and ended up talking to her for like 6 hours...was supposed to meet her at some DnB party...but instead went for a steak and walked around red light district bars drinking and smoking...monday took it easy went to a coffee shop and took a taxi to airport....
All in all...I think I will be going back there some time soon

Let me get this straight.
So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:
1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...
Does the GU label have any say in what a DJ puts in their mixes? Would that explain why so many GUs have been so shit (doesn't explain Nick Warren and his track selections though)? Or is it entirely the fault of a lousy roster of DJs?

Oh. My. God. James absolutely obliterated the island tonight. The last time there was so much destruction, Obi Wan Kenobi had to take a seat on the Falcon after the Death Star said "hi and bye" to Leia's homeworld.
I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.

I'm guessing the DJ has a budget on how much they can spend on licencing the tracks. So they could spend more on one track and less on another, depending on how much the artist or his record label want for it. I know in the 90's a lot of artists / Labels thought that once they had been approached by GU to licence the track they where guaranteed to be on the CD so asked for stupid money and as a result never made it onto the CD's. I also remember an Artist posting on GU that he had 2 tracks that had been licenced and had not been paid for them. But the track selection come purley down` to the DJ in the end.

Remember that well - it was Barry Robb from Sphere who posted that he had not been paid. Think it all got sorted in the end though.

Without a doubt.. however I was really peeved when I first heard he was doing GU 35... I mean come on there are a million dj's to choose from. But after 33 and 34, it was a welcome break
Maybe Nick gets all these GUs because he has been around long enough to get his tracks at mates rates Just kidding

I think Hernan has done the same amount of Renaissance Cd's as Nick had done GU's if you only go back till 2000. I think the big difference is GU have had a load of turkeys in between the Warren releases, where as Renaissance have had plenty of quality releases.
