MET 2009 ٠ 125th Gala ٠ Domingo's 40 Years at the Met
Hi, everybody. Celebrating 7th Aniversary of Mercuryserver, I decided to start a new thread, something not very usual for Mercury visitors. I have decided to start it since I have a very eclectic musical taste. I like not only EDM, but also Classical Electronic music (Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, et al.), Rock, Progressive Rock, Jazz, Jazz Rock, Big Band, Blues, Classical Music (Ancient and Modern), Ethnic, Folk, Sudamerican Folk Music, Fussion, Ambient, and some inclassificable genres or types of international music, and because I have so many files of this kind that they deserve some others have it too. I want to think that there are other members of this wonderful page that share the same musical taste, or at least, some of you guys that maybe want to listen some others genres.. So, following parameters of Mercuryserver of not posting official CDs or releases, but only what we can call Bootlegs, let's started with one first amazing post.
First thing about my files. All of them are configurated for iTunes, which is mean that includes a picture of the album (when this is avialable), a little enhanced volume, all the files are correctly and properly labeled for a better enjoyment and non of them need password to decompress. It contains all information you can need inside. If you want to add some files feel free to do it. I just recommended to try to labeled correctly your files in order to allow others have a full and meaningful experience when they listen to it. Also, try to not borrowed links from other pages. Its a very annoying thing to discovered that a link is dead and there is no way to reposted, specially with this kind of musical files. Try to put only files you actually have it. Feel free also to let a message. And more important, give you the chance to listen other kind of music, maybe you discover that you are more ear opened that you immagined.
This first post belong to a very special date in the Metropolitan Opera House of New York, one of the biggest and prestigious Opera Houses in the world, and leader on world broadcasting of their seasons. This file belongs to the 125th Aniversary of the Met, which also was the 40th Anniversay of a living legend: mr. Plácido Domingo, who is the most important singer has never appear on the newyorker stage, with more live performances that even Enrico Caruso. To celebrate this important landmark, the Met made a special gala last Sunday 15th March 2009, with a very wide program, from Mozart to Wagner, which includes some of the finest singers of the contemporary Opera, such as Anghela Gheorghiu, Renée Fleming, Roberto Alagna, Juan Diego Flórez, Thomas Hampson, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Joseph Calleja, and of course, mr. Plácido Domingo.
This file contains two kind of mp3 files. First block are the single arias, which are 25 mp3 separated files. The second group is the full broadcasting with interviews and broadcast comments, in two big files of almost two hours each of them, belonging to the two parts of the actual broadcast with the intermission. So you can decide to listen just the arias, or listen the full show. The file also contains an rtf file with the full program, and a review of this gala taken from Internet (I just don't remember from what page I tooked).
Enjoy!
