Re: JUST FINISHED my buddies new site!!
Thanks for the compliments...
The part about the site that I'm happiest about is his news and gigs section. Basically both of those sections are populated from an external .txt file that my buddy can edit.
Now when he has new news or gigs, he can re upload a new txt file and it'll update the flash automatically... no recompiling or even having to open the flash!
I know, nothing ground breaking, was kinda stoked that I finally figured it out!Comment

Re: JUST FINISHED my buddies new site!!
Looks great man! Great job!
I really like the loading graphic.
As for some constructive feedback, I did notice two things right off...
In firefox & IE there is a bit of space at the top to the actual content so I had to scroll down to see the very bottom. Im not sure if that was intentional. Its just a pet peeve of mine when I go to a site and have to scroll down to see the content if it can fit into the screen.
The scroll bars in the news and up coming gigs kind of glare out and stick out quite a bit. Maybe change the color or make them another style.
again these are just my two cents.Comment

Basically with this site, I tried to design a little different. 99.99% of websites out there start at the top... I wanted to design one that started at the bottom BUT not making the user have to scroll, to see it. If you had to scroll to see the content, that's a big no no...
Can I please ask you what your screen resolution is... I thought I designed for the lowest common denominator, which nowadays is 1024x768 but maybe I didn't. I'm thinking now that depending on howmany search bars, toolbars, you have across your browser window can also determine the amount of real estate, shown by your browser...
Regarding the toolbars, yes, I agree, now that I look at them as well. I'll have to make that change!
Thanks for the feedback regardless though!!Comment

1200x800 on a 14.1 WS notebook had to scroll, if you want a screen shot let me know.
I checked on my other notebook 1920x1200, no scrolling
Either way, great looking site.Comment

Re: JUST FINISHED my buddies new site!!
Damn! Scrolling on 1200x800 resolution! I may have to consider a little touch up on the design then.
If you don't mind shooting over a screen shot, that'd be great! That way I can tell how much you're scrolling, how many toolbars you may have, etc...
Thanks for the help bro and glad you like the site!Comment

Damn, that's quite a bit. Thanks very much for the screenshot! Looks like I'll go back to the drawing board to fix it.
Appreciate it!Comment

Re: JUST FINISHED my buddies new site!!
Hope you fix it man, site looks really nice ;-). Did you tie the whole site container to the screen bottom with CSS or push it down from the top? I know that tying it can sometimes give you shit -that always ends up in fiddling around with fixed and absolute positions and the margin values.Blowkick visual & graphic design - No Civilization.
