Re: Sasha & Digweed : UK Tour Report

as this was the first time ive seen S&D together and i waited a few months for it to happen, i must admit that my expectations grew up a bit more than normal and maybe this is why i thought the night was good but not that super great night to remember..
i only went to the Leeds gig and here are my thoughts of the night:

got there with my cousin, around 12:30 and as we got on the queue to buy tickets, a girl comes next to us and asks everyone if they wanted 2 tickets she had, coz two of her friends didnt make it the last minute. so we get the 2 tickets for £10 each, instead of paying £20 each otd, and we get in the club!

at the time we got in diggers was spinning some great music and you could see that from the crowd reactions and although a bit of a warm up set of tunes, he knew exactly what he was doing. i had a walk around the club to find the places i would visit more often, like the bars, the smoking area and the loos. i had a fag, got back in and after i spend some time listening to Kanio's dark tech-house in room 2, i went back to the main stage, where sasha was on, playing Jamie McHugh-Lunar(John Selway Rmx). great tune with very nice progression. unfortunately after then, i couldnt get into their music.

one tune was good, the other one was not so good, we had some hands in the air moments but the tune after it was just danceable. i remember thinking to myself "come on guys, you can do better than this..". i went back to room 2 and my god... Spektre was wrecking the place! dark techno bombs non stop, one after the other one!it reminded me of GuyJ in matter and the set we recently had in our p/r section.. now i must say im not a big techno fan, im more like a sashweed fan, but i found strange why i was liking more the music in room 2, than the music in S&D room...

3:30 to 4:00am back with S&D and the music was a bit better but still didnt have that bit of extra x-factor i was expecting. a couple of super progressive tunes that made me think "thats what im talking about" and leaving my caz in shock, but this was quickly gone and we were back to just danceable music.. towards the end during their b2b session, sasha dropped Trisco-Muzak and John followed with DS-I Feel Loved, which was another hands in the air moment!

then before their set was over sasha closed his mac, picked up some wires and dissapeared which was a bit odd (but as Simon said maybe he wasnt feeling very well because of the flu) and after 3 more tunes Diggers finished his set with the Sasha's remix of Doves. apparently 2 guys carried on from there until 6 where the party was officially over. now tell me who can finish better a S&D set than the original S&D???

so conclusion: really great night and i enjoyed most of it, but it just wont be a night to remember as "fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.... aaaaay waaas theeeree!!!!"
