      Wow, what a statement.
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

          N-tchbl, Ditto
          Ok Didi don’t be angry
I will give you a more detailed answer of what I mean. It is mainly about “mind over matter” perspective.

First, I read the list and I am not saying that all of that isn’t the every day reality for way more than half of the earth’s population, but I’d still give you the same answer, it is a choice.

Ok now hear me out. The human mind does a lot more for us than it is obvious to us. And yet it is still only a tool that we use. For example: We are born it in this world like a blank paper and receive certain amount of information that we then begin to believe is the truth and we seek evidence in our daily life and we usually get the confirmation that what we were told is true. Ok. But on the other side of the world another blank paper is born who receives completely different set of information and his reality also turns out to be the truth in his eyes – but our stories are direct opposites and still they happen to be true. Well that part of the studies of anthropology made me think but I honestly decided I will ignore it coz it made my belief system collapse. But then I dug deeper and discovered explanation to this (and way more than I expected tbh).

First important fact we are usually unaware of is that the brain has the capability to process a huge amount of data – we are aware of about 2,000 bits of information per second and our subconscious mind processes about 200 billion bits of information per second – now this huge amount of unaware stuff that is not to be overlooked!

Honestly I don’t know how to make this answer simple coz if I give you the direct answer it may sound like I am describing the color of a number 5, so I’ll give you some background of my studies.
For example Cymatics (explains and impact of a spoken word or any other sound and its influence on a physical matter), Sacred geometry (explains micro and macro world – I need to mention a few things here just to give you an tiny idea: like every planet in our solar system (and out) has the exact same position as does our molecules in or body, our blood cells, our internal organs,…, or that all of the volcanoes on earth are positioned the same way our meridians are in our upper torso – these studies were begun by Leonardo DaVinci…, every plant on earth has the same growh structure as the human cells in the fetus,…) , DNA (there used to be a term “junk dna” coz the scientists had no idea what 95% of our dna was used for, so they thought it was dead but only recently discovered it contains an enormous amount of information including every single word we have written and the vocabulary we haven’t even learned yet, it contains information about more than a 100 emotional states we are experiencing every day and are aware of just a few, and they thought that this was the basis our life is shaped of but discovered that a human mind can change the dna code and that was quite a revolutionary discovery but was never mentioned in a mass media- of course…), Quantum physics, NLP, and so on…

There is a lot of knowledge behind this statement! In the end what matters is what I think and believe or what instructions I give to my brain to initiate the frequency that will resonate the result I want. The point is if I observe the world and agree with what is being seen is the truth than this truth will reply itself until I change the point of view, so that’s why it is probable most people will not realize that they can decide not to be poor or sick or… (unless we reach a critical mass ) but this knowledge is available and is also very old and is very very interesting if you give it a chance.

            Re: Being Poor

I found that pretty interesting. You seem to be saying that because little is actually known, particularly about the brain, the possibilities are endless. On an academic level this may be true.

Unfortunately I don't think this relates at all to people currently living in poverty or the choices available to them.

Also unfortunately, if you read the article that Ithraxl put up, there is a very real case for the middle and upper classes having a vested interest in keeping the poverty levels where they are or even higher.

              Re: Being Poor

Kat seems to be saying poor is a state of mind, which is sorta relativistic, to Kamal's point about being poor in a rich surrounding and being poor in a poor surrounding.

But as to all that mambo jumbo, well, you can't think yourself into feeling full if you're starving. No matter your state of mind, you can't ignore simple hard reality and a rumbling stomach.

                Re: Being Poor

@ feather: well thats what mind over matter actually is. i'm a living proof that it is so and so are many people who decided to discover what the heck is going on in this world. all the systems (political, religious, economic..) in the world are artificial by nature and cannot exist permanently in the world of nature. there are findings for instance like the dead sea scrolls which were banned from the bible and they explain what prayer actualy is - its knowing that we are able to see and make the future we wish to have, for example thanking for the rain before it actually rained and then it did - yes it includes the weather as well,.. or reading other peoples minds - i used to have an opinion like "whatever" but actually i learned to use it on purpose and found out we are all doing it all the time except we are unaware of it (its called subjective communication),.... but theres really so much more and i cannot give you the whole lecture.
it is also common to have an opinion before you have the knowledge. dig in and see for yourself. start with anthropology, then read about quantum physics, string theory, akashic records,.. and you'll have more questions than ever before

then again, the economy drives the attitude and goes back to what I'm saying. If you're a poor man in a poor country, its one thing, if you're a poor man in a rich country, then that's another.

back home, the poverty level is immense and overall population of people living at or below the poverty line is massive. there's little to be ashamed of in that scenario because for such a large chunk of the country, that is just a way of life.
