DJing mixing with software only (yikes)

please allow me to expand on this post tomorrow(for me that is 3-5 hours from now), as i am not valid at the moment to elaborate. i have a very critical question regarding the technique, process and formula for mixing with software only (in my case ableton live 7.0.10), for parties, after had only mixes with old technics in the past. *note that i have not mixes with cdjs or any kind of parlance EDM geared mixer/controller before*

wasn't sure where to categorize/designate this post, but i think this is the right place to post these few inquiries regarding my issue:

    1. is it wise to have a track and channel layout beforehand, every time, when preforming in software mode with or without a controller?

    2. is it safe or not to try and mix off the fly' in tihs mode -- having only done private sessions/practices in the past?

    3. anyone care to share any intuitive techniques (before my later expansion) regarding this subject?

im not sure how this is a thread topic?

Ya gotta just go for it man. i think you are too scared to make mistakes cause you are just learning and perhaps you would like to fast-forward your dj skills a bit by getting into all this advanced stuff, but have you learned how to program a mix yet? There are no formulas or tricks or secrets in my opinion, just hours spent = skill, for the technical side of dj'ing. The other half would be Style and that in my opinion is either something ppl have or they don't.

oh, i have the hours spent; and the style, well, i've been perfecting that as an art for a long time.

kk. been 'deejaying' with vinyl since my turntablism and rare groove days, and am pretty 'tech savvy' already, so yah i just needa reconcile these 2 ways of performing, as a dj and then i'm all good to go.

this thread is randomly open for others to bounce thoughts off - if they want. also, i thought it would be necessity for me to designate those queries concretely at this stage in my progress.

no dude, you do not get it. it is not a how to dj or diy. i know how to dj, and can bring together many genres in experimental fashion. this thread subjectively pertains to what are good hardware preferences for setups - when trying to establish an augmented synthesis of the various modes and formats when planing a new party and gig setup. can you see the distinction?

the topic of this thread also is related to the dangers and obstacles that come with mixing with software (in my case ableton live) only; and what devices would be better to reconcile mixing with digital only --for the time being -- and then with vinyl/digital together, later on. i should have just posted this over on the aldj forums, but i was curious what [ms]'s thoughts were on the subject.

my turntables and all else are gone... except for the software loaded on my computers, so i will eventual have enough money for a full setup to do all this, but for now i will co-measure the device choices and prices.

LOL does it need to come in a bag for you? LOL

well, the way it was worded in the original post is rather incongruous and misleading, yeah. i even pointed out that i was invalid while posting it -- meaning i was utterly strung out, but the subjectivity was there nonetheless. AGAIN, i was just wondering what other peoples thoughts where regarding the subject of mixing with software only, and what their experiences have been like (live or pre-made). AGAIN, i've been mixing with just my software only for a good year now, and just wanted to expand on it, and share experiences.

i posted this other places on the net and i got some nice responses, but idk why the hell you're so LOLOLOL, sparky. i admitted to being wasted while posting the original, but evidently you just dont get the main gist son. LOL

oh of course, that's the point brah, it's abstract atm. these poasts are just contemplations i decided to vent in this thread, while i was corresponding with a programmer at that time.
