Premiere New York City nightclub Cielo continues its highly acclaimed compilation series with its latest installment Playtime. The double album is mixed by resident DJs Nicolas Matar and Willie Graff on Tommy Boy is out today and will be celebrated with the official release party at Cielo with Nicolas Matar this Saturday, June 13, 2009.
Over the years the Cielo compilation series has amassed a worldwide audience of seasoned dance music aficionados. Its ongoing success is a testament to the overall programming and underlying vibe at Cielo that celebrates quality dance music above all else. Both CDs are mixed and compiled by Nicolas Matar and Willie Graff incorporating their musical bearings and keen sense of DJing styles. Matar has developed his eclectic sound by playing in the most celebrated nightclubs over the past fifteen years. His skillful DJing combines elements of jazz, deep and funky house with heavy disco, African and Latin influences. Similarly, Willie Graff showcases his diverse array of house music with emphasis on his deep and moody trademark sound.
Playtime features deep and soulful tracks from some of house music’s most popular and influential artists including UK legend Charles Webster, German deep house favorites Lovebirds, Mantis Recordings co- founder Atjazz, Buzzin Fly’s Rocco, NYC garage master Kerri Chandler, Louie Vega’s Elements of Life collective, Defected veteran Kings of Tomorrow (aka Sandy Rivera), Berlin House/Rock band Wahoo featuring George Levin & Dixon, New York’s original queen of house Barbara Tucker, vocal legend Robert Owens, third wave Detroit techno pioneer Kenny Larkin, Dessous artist and Beaports “Best Deep House Act” Phonique, !K7 favorite Henrik Schwarz, and Mobilee staple Sebo K.
Since it’s opening in 2004, Cielo has become an international music club brand upholding its edict of world-class music, elite level service and all-inclusive atmosphere.
