Infusion Have Lost It

It seems that Infusion have totally sold out. Once upon a time they were my fave electronic groups, now it seems they have gone and took the pop route.

Shame.

There 2004 essential mix never leaves my iPod, and even there last two albums are there too.

I just had a listen to there upcoming album preview on the net, got a total shock. Can't believe it.

Yup, caught them live last Oct I think. They're turning into some electro-band act. The crowd was lost as well and only danced when they played the old stuff.

Very sad, Infusion was one of the best live acts, lots of energy, lots of good beats. They did a live PA at Sunny ages ago and it was one of the trippiest EDM I've heard.

It's just a sad sign of the times. Acts like Presets taking over the charts, noobs at NYE on Bondi shouting for Presets when Underworld was performing.

Just seems like most of the Aussie producers have no idea what to do now that prog is no longer deep nor dark.

I think it must be how the scene has gone over there. The electro sound was creeping in for a while in their stuff, but done well. 'Do To You In 82' is still a fantastic record.
I guess we've just grown apart.

Chable is doing prog again. We have some really good producers , just not as well known yet. Harley Augustine is getting play from a couple of top Djs.

But this infusion is really disappointing . I was going to go to the album launch.

Chable is doing prog again. We have some really good producers , just not as well known yet. Harley Augustine is getting play from a couple of top Djs.

Actually yeah, heard a recent Chable remix and it sounded like he was going back the other way. Hope so too, he was my favourite producer around 2002/03.

we're in a global recession unseen by 99% of dj's and the like...that being said, if a musician or producer or dj needs to turn to creative alternatives in order to continue doing what they love (vs. becoming bartenders) or explore their options to make a dime, that's life. I honestly think that might be part of what's going on. Plus, I've noticed dj's popping up who had otherwise been laying low during the market slowdown most likely to capitalize on the fact that we all need to be entertained now more than ever... just saying.

What are you talking about, it's an art! It's an occupation hazard to suffer for your art! These people should just suck it up and keep on producing the music we love, we give them enough adulation and chin-stroking!
