Yeah I am using the beta/RC. I have read about the new features but I have not noticed anything much to be honest.

Yeah, I have experienced the tab tearing, that's handy. Not the keyword search in awesome bar, haven't had the need yet. Have not had the chance to experience the session restore. I've enabled the richer colour profiles I think, but to be honest it's not something I noticed either unless I think if I did an A/B comparison. Geo location is probably dependant on the websites, and I haven't noticed anything special with the new Java engine. What is interesting is the built in video support though, that would be cool when it takes off.

FF used to be very stable but these recent releases have gone down the shitter tube in terms of stability.

Actually re, the Java engine ... I'm not sure if Facebook is dependant on it but I assume Facebook is quite AJAX heavy, and the site could've been a bit more responsive. Have not noticed much with Gmail. Unless I am mistaken about the deal with FF's new Java engine.

And my FF has been quite stable, no issues at all. Memory leaks aren't much improved though, but the problem with FF is that it's quite hard to tell, could be my extensions causing the leaks.

BTW any of you trying out 3.5, I highly recommend Weave.

how does it work? does it save your passwords on a centralized location? that'd be scary because a lot of my credit card / bank logins etc. are stored locally and would hate for that shit to make it into the web cloud.

Errm yeah it stores it in the cloud. My FF is only set to remember simple logins for forums anyway. Anything more complex like Gmail or internet banking or Paypal or Ebay, FF doesn't remember them. I already use a separate password manager called 1password for the Mac to handle the complex passwords.

You don't have to use the password features of Weave. When you have Weave installed on different computers, it syncs your bookmarks (which is what I use Weave for because Google Sync no longer works) and preferences, and you can access your open tabs on one machine from another machine, which is pretty handy.

it's out. I tried for at least an hour last night to install it on ubuntu but failed

the best I could get installed was the daily build 3.5.1xxx... it seems they don't have a stable package built yet. any ubuntu users have any luck getting it? I couldn't find a "stable" package source

^^even on a force install? I had one (Cooliris) that would crash it on load...so I killed it out for now.
