PRS-045 Felizol Treehouse EP
Persona is proud to present Felizol for his debut on Persona our 45th release is out now!
Idiosyncratic Greek producer Felizol describes his to his music as Treehouse Techno conjuring up the introspective and droll nature of his approach. After the tender folk-experiments of his quixotic debut album, Birthdays, Felizol gives reign to his darker, dancefloor self on his debut for Persona.
Title track The Treeehouse channels Jean Michel Jarre via Detroit for a rippling, spacey flight through rolling beats, vibraphone, trumpet and warm vintage synths.
The Steamhouse burbles into more pumping action driven by beats, strings and sampled calls to prayer. With nods to Lawrence and the Dial boys with chimey synth stabs and a hint of cowbell backed up by spacey, gloopy references to Transmat, it winds through long and rewarding phrases until the tension is tight. Floating Down this River opens with mournful strings and Murcof-esque piano work that weaves into woozy grooves and wobbly house tropes. The strata of ambient, glitch, ensemble, mournful melody and loopy handclaps invite deep listening.
