    Re: P90x

there isn't a leveling off period b/c it relies on muscle confusion. you do a different workout everyday of the week. there are 3 different workouts depending on what your wanting to do lasting 90 days each. so after you finish one you can start another.
they do offer additional workout plans after you gone thru the first set. i've been meaning to call my friend in new york and see how he's been doing with it. he finished his first 90 day's probably in febuary or so. so he's already finished the second. i'll see where he is in it and how his results are and get back to everyone.

im talking about the leveling off period coming after 90 days. that's what i was wondering, is there another p90x...like p90x2 and p90x3? there would have to be to continue to see improvement.

sorry for the confusion. you have your choice of 3 different workouts to begin with. so after the first 90 days you start one of the others for 90 days.

ah, gotcha. it's a great idea for people who want to workout at home. oddly enough, it's the same price as my gym membership over 90 days. key is doing something consistently...and changing it up and staying at it.

yea, i like it a lot, but i've always liked gyms. my problems with a gym now are that i'm back and forth between 2 cities so it makes a gym impossible unless i joined one in each city. that and my work hours are very erratic. not to mention that i like having a workout partner at the gym.

congrats for being successful - its a great accomplishment.

But 20lbs in 3 months isnt that much - 7 pounds a month,

(but Im sure some of the bulk you put on offbalances the weight loss)

Weight is harder to loose for different people. At the end of the day, if you have successfully gained muscle (which burns fat), lost weight, that's an excellent start. After successfully spiking your metabolism, sustaining your gains ie muscle growth and fat loss can become difficult. Most people our age don't have time to eat healthy or get proper rest, unless you make both a priority, those hard earned results will eventually go back to your bodies typical comfort zone.

I've been doing this program for a while now and highly recommend it. I don't follow the program as I should but use it mainly to stay in shape. The first go around I noticed a tremendous amount of improvement. I haven't followed the diet and only workout 4 days a week. Its a real commitment if you want to follow the program exactly, but well worth it (my schedule just won't allow for it). I promise you will see changes after just a week.

Not that I'm condoning it but I originally downloaded the videos from a torrent site and eventually bought the program because it was worth the money. The calendar is available on the web.

Let me just say that those 20lbs were off in the first month and a half. I've gained some muscle so the weight is balanced off by now. I'm 6'1" and weight 185, I don't want to loose much more weight than that anyway. When I started this thing, I was 208 - 210lbs and a fat blubbery mess with bitch tits. I got the results a person in my shape would like to get in just 3 months.

This program gives you a strict routine to follow 7 days a week. The first 3 weeks are the same, then the forth week changes. The following 3 weeks, the 2 most important muscle workout days change, this is were the muscle confusion happens, and then the forth week changes. The last month, there is a combo of the first 2 months. There is no plateau with this workout, it changes constantly the whole 3 months, you muscles never really get used to it.

this workout is the real deal. It is very hard to do and I lost 15 lbs very fast with this workout.

Now if I could just lay off the beer I would be ok.

                                few mentions here.

                                1) The loss will be strictly from cardio, so if it's shocking your muscles, chances are you're diverting blood flow.

                                2) Max muscle mass that can be gained with 2300+ calories is .5lb per month, and that's if you're consistent with your dieting (unless you're still in your teens (max amount of growth hormones) or mid 20s (peak athletic fitness)). Any muscle you do see, is underlying and not developed. For instance, your ab muscles underlie your fat tissues (Camper's fascia followed by Scarpes fascia), and so if you lose the weight, you'll be able to see the outline of what you already have. Any enlargement of muscle fibers will be from resistance training on the abs. In essence, you will not gain muscle strength, but will look toned, which I guess is what most people are after.

An easy alternative would be to just set up a circuit training course in your garage or living room.

This site is actually pretty neato.
Sports Fitness Advisor offers training plans for a variety of sports and performance outcomes - like increased sport-specific strength, speed, power and

Why spend 140$ on someone else creating a routine, when you can do it yourself?
Many people would sooner die than think; In fact, they do so.
