it's not your typical lava lamp. i don't think it has any liquids inside either. it's made from a laser, a LED, and a quartz crystal...

Nah, check these out. Mathos was one of the original makers of the lava lamp. They have some pretty funky color stuff out now...you might get a better idea by googlin some of their products
