so after dj'ing for 7 years in my crap, hick-town province on the praries in canada (alberta...edmonton, and now calgary for the last 2.5 years), i finally have a residency playing the kind of music i want to play and in a great venue with amazing sound and owners who know whats up. SO happy about it
i found out a couple weeks ago i'd be playing with 4 other djs once a month (though three of them will be opening i believe) here on thursdays on a progressive house night. they've branded it "the guild" and done a pretty slick marketing campaign up with it. our ultimate goal is to have some great prog headliners in on that night, as that style of music is tragically lacking here anymore. very rarely do we get good djs our way, what with all the electro bs going on nowadays (think mstrkrft, felix da housecat, etc etc).
so ya, i get to play 4 to the floor all out prog (and tech house and techno )for a receptive crowd in a dark, gritty club. life is good
