On Wednesday, Jan 12th, 2005, a new music tradition begins in Los Angeles, as San Francisco?s legendary Qo?l opens its sister club, Qo?l LA! In its nine years of existence, Qo?l has become a San Francisco clubbing institution, becoming one of the longest continuously-running dance weeklies in North America. Its purpose, to bring a Saturday night club vibe to a mid-week Happy Hour, remains unique in the dance music world.
Qo?l LA resident DJs DANIEL DJANG, JOSH ABRAMS, and MICHAEL SCOT combine years of experience as DJs and musicians into a resident lineup that will stand out even in a city as talent-rich as L.A. Their individual DJ styles cover progressive, house, breaks, and all points in between. The residents all bring a love of music to the decks that can be felt through the sheer enjoyment of playing for an up-for-it crowd. Qo?l LA?s residents will, as Qo?l founders Jondi and Spesh put it so well, "bring that infectious Qo?l energy with us through the music we play". In addition to its residents, Qo?l LA will book guests from an excellent group of local DJs, as well as bring in national and international talent.
Currently, there is nothing like Qo?l in Los Angeles. Sure, there are plenty of mid-week DJ events, but no one has tried to start a DJ Happy Hour, let alone start a sister event to Qo?l SF. We feel that, with Jondi and Spesh supporting us, Qo?l LA already has instant credibility and a huge built-in audience. Everyone involved is really excited about bringing something unique to Los Angeles and starting a new tradition that lives up to the standard set by Qo?l SF. So join us on January 12th, 2005, as we launch Qo?l LA!
