i'll drink a beer with ya Hos. None for Simon tho. Beer and depression don't go very good together. Someone needs to drive to his house and give that chap a nice pat on the back. Life is good.

Micro-brews, not really my thing. I like European beer mostly.

      One of my favorites...

      Bass, England's finest. How ironic.

i still don`t get what your point is. Are you saying that folks who don`t know there history of world war 2 are a bit dim? Not everybody chooses to learn about such avents in life... that doesn`t make them any less inteligent than others.

                        and..

i thought McDonalds was the only food you guys ate over ther :P

oh, by all means, let's take the discussion further...

i AM saying folks, especially brits, who don't know there history of ww2 are THICK....DIM....DENSE!

You say people CHOOSE to learn about some events and some not? You don't choose to know these things, you are obligated to know as a human being.

How as a brit, can you not know a history of ww2? You'd be speaking german had it not been for the Americans. I'm not trying to be arrogant here, but a country like britian (even more so the french, but that's a different discussion) not know the history of WW2, Hitler, and the Jewish holocaust?

Of course it makes them less intelligent. FFS man, we're talking about one of the worst genocidal events in the history of mankind. nearly 6million jews died. Again, not implicating YOU in particular, but seriously, being that involved, and that closely related to the events of just 60-70 years ago, how can you not have knowledge of this? I find that to not only be ignorant, but rather offensive.

                          Thoughts?

no offense running man...but in response to Canada's involvement in WW2...

we appreciate the sandwhiches canada made for the troops.

                              thanks, we were hungry.

Your statement is painted with a very broad brush my friend and i feel sorry for the folks you have offended. Just because someone may not know anything about the subject does not, in me eyes, make them thick..dim or dense as you put it. When i was a school (many moons ago) there were kids there who didn`t have the slightest bit of interest in history but choose to channel there learning skills in other subjects, that may sound ignorant to you and me but neither you nor me has the right to call them stupid for it.
I read bellow that we are starting to get into the finer details of the sad events of the mid fourties... is this realy going to get us anywhere.. apart from "we did this" and " well we were there first" or "yes but we finished it off"? My thought are that getting into a heated discussion about the war will just end in board members squabbling with the outcome being.. well... no outcome.

                                Again, just my thoughts.

                                Thoughts?

How about you stop giving people like Chem the chance to stereotype you.
