    JZ in Detroit 11/25/2004.....

hmmmmmmmm i would have to say i was disappointed with James in Detroit.....Thought the sound system sucked at Bleu....sounded very muffled. Was hoping for some driving tech house from JZ but he seemed to keep breaking his mixes down?? hmmmmmm well i maybe have to see him in Chicago or Toronto??? MAYBE??? 100 peeps at the show but that didn't bother me....will never go to Club Bleu again!!!!

    Better luck next time...

I have heard that from a lot of people that bleu sucks. That is why I stay away from that place. He should have played at Necto, if it is still open. Not sure! Better luck next time.

he just played the week before that gig, here at LIMA Peru. That was certainly not the case. Great sound system, it was going off, he played some sick tunes, but im not a super fan of effects and technic stuff that he loves so much.

      Indeed, great gig

Not sure I would say that a DJ (himself or herself) disappointed because of the lack of a quality sound system. As for 'driving tech house' you may have been listening to another James Zabiela before going to see the real James Zabiela.

Check out some of his tracklistings. I wouldn't say that his sets consist of vast amounts of 'driving tech house'.

James Zabiela - Promo September 2004

            tracklist:
            1. Invasion of The Daleks 'Chapter 1' (Big Finish Audio)
            2. Bassnectar 'Not In Our Name' (Bless 12)
            3. Bassnecter/DJ T 'Not In Our Name/Time Out (Acid Dub)' Zabiela's Live Soundbyte Edit
            4. DJ T 'Not In Our Name' (Acid Dub) (Get Physical)
            5. Envoy 'Move On' (Alex Smoke Dub) (Soma)
            6. Dirty Gringos 'Cowbell' (Ebon Remix) (Farm)
            7. Army Of One 'Revelation Dub' (Worship)
            8. Weird Continentals 'What The Funk' (Unsigned CDR)
            9. Tommy Nervada 'Feet Back On The Ground' (ELP)
            10. Afro Cadence 'Acidic Mass' (Original Mix) (Auto White)
            11. Stryke & Santos 'Amazon' (Circle)
            12. Mr Siff 'The Riff' (Jericho)
            13. U & K 'Master Of Nuggets' (Unsigned CDR)
            14. Sasha 'Mr Tiddles' (Sound Alliance Remix) (CDR)
            15. Goldie Feat The Metalheadz 'Inner City Life' (? Remix) (CDR)

            17. Client 'Radio' (Rex The Dog Remix) (Mute)

they are open, but its not worth going. they have goth/indurstrial on mondays, thursday is gay night friday is college night and saturday is gay night. or something like that, reguardless, it's moved in a different direction. very unfortunate as i've always enjoyed my time spent there.
