Re: why is the most popular stuff always CRAP
My colleague has this anti-popular theory, he reckons anything popular has to be crap because it caters to the lowest denominator.

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head. -

Erick Morillo played G&R's original version at The Circus in Liverpool about two years ago, I and several hundred other people went absolutely mental. This track would be in my top ten favourite tracks of all time.
I'm not realy into rock tracks being re-mixed but there is a new U2 remix about at the moment, I'm not sure what it's called. I heard it briefly on the radio last night but I never got to hear who it was by. It sounded very good, even on a first listen. Aparently they are going to play this version live.
*EDIT I found it

I work at bar, and all they play is mtv hits, radio hits, etc...it's all crap! An 80's song will come on, and 95% of the bar is singing along. It's time like this, I'm glad I'm not a gun owner..or I'd shoot myself. (not really) I decompress on the way home by bangin techno into my face!Comment

The tracks are only crap because once you first listen, you like. Then hearing them 4 or 5 times a day makes you despise them!!Comment

Re: why is the most popular stuff always CRAP
you have to think that there are clubs that cater to this type of music, its not all about the "underground". Also, i think for every 5 dance clubs, only one caters to underground music, the other 4 play top 40, 80's and comercial stuff, so its not surprise to find these tracks to be popular.
the only thing i find annoying in beatport is the amounts of music you find in there, just to buy at least 10 tracks i have to dedicate a full day of browsing, which at times can get very boring and frustrating...:: listen :: react ::..

Re: why is the most popular stuff always CRAP
i dunno why anyone bothers with beatport. djdownload.com is better, cheaper, faster, and has releases on there quicker than beatport. not to mention a player where you can actually play the whole track.
fuck beatport. fuck its stupid international restrictions. fuck it all so much.
and i dont think that this track is THAT bad - i mean, i have heard way worse. if this was played at 4 am when i was peaking off my nuts, id be all "yeah! fuck yeah! gnr!!!"Originally posted by KamalThank you Dr. Needle for attending the balloon PartyComment

I kinda agree with this one... the repetition really does my head in. I shy aware from radio stations now.~ You are what you think you are ~

Stuff like that always gets some popularity.
Now, if that were like a white label and sampled more of the track, it would be pretty damn good!FM
