that is the single biggest reason I never moved to chrome. google tracks enough about you to learn about you. scarily, if you're logged into gmail in 1 tab and do google searches in the next tab, it now builds a history of every keyword you search tagged to your email address. then, it uses that information to show you ads. what stops them from selling that personal info?

you can log in to your account history and delete all the sites that you've visited.


did you try a new profile yet? don't switch browsers because something finally broke for the first time in who knows how long and you're not willing to troubleshoot

I dont want to use XMarks and have all my logins + passwords sitting somewhere on the internet. I tried using Mozbackup but the problem returns. I've just deleted everything and starting from scratch. Going to be a MAJOR PITA to get everything off the ground again

I think it might have something to do with a Javascript bug. I would try to disable Java and Javascript (should still be able to access gmail via plain html and this board too) and then you can check to see if that's the problem.

Otherwise, if that's not it sounds like suspicious virus behavior but that's just my guess. Just throwing things out there sorry you are having trouble

Xmarks doesn't sync logins/passwords... just bookmarks. I know I've seen a separate project (I think by the creators of Xmarks) that is working to sync everything about Firefox, including accounts, but that's not the case for Xmarks.

so far so good on a clean install, gradually re-adding all my passwords, shortcuts.

How is safari on Windows? I still refuse to use Chrome, I just don't trust how much of your websurfing they will mine.
