so in chi-town for lollapalooza, and decided (in retrospect probably poorly) to skip mark farina's 15 year ohm anniversary party @ smartbar and head to see 16 bit at spybar.
firstly...who names one club "spybar" when there is already a "smartbar" (or vice versa, which ever came second). who thought that was a good idea?
spybar itself...impressions. too small a dancefloor. not the most educated crowd. unable to dance well once busy. decent, but not amazing sound. really wish we'd headed to smartbar and had some room to dance without getting bumped into every 30 seconds by people coming on to or leaving the dancefloor.
16 bit lolitas...played some great driving prog, recognized several tracks (ie. tree dance, sweep the floor, etc). mixing was so-so, not the best...but passable. couple flubbed mixes but they corrected pretty well.
would very much like to see them again, but in a different venue...
now i'm going to bed so i can manage to see tool tomorrow night without needing a wheelchair. i hurt all over.
