In the spirit of rabbiting on !! Review I posted in local forum.
Well, last night definitely belonged to the locals.
SOS were always going to have their work cut out for them living up to last years effort. Theirs and Danny Howells were my top gigs of the year!! But I would have liked them to try. Last year they came on and they were "on" from the first beats. It was a totally amazing set. This year I think they had a few technical problems to start, but it never really got off the ground as a structured set. There were some amazing moments as against an amazing set.
It was a little like a bit of a play around. They were fun , Omid was in fine form, but while last year, I had people bringing me water so I didn't have to leave the floor, this year I had no problems wandering off !! Sadly neither did a lot of other people They had lost half their dance floor by the time they finished. There was no sign of that incredible energy they seemed to have last year. And it may have been cool that Desyn was tweeting while playing if you weren't there but personally I would rather he put that energy into giving us a better set.
The locals Sean Quinn , it was like he never left. A great warmup set, and people saying how good it was that we are seeing and hearing him out more often
Danny Bonnici while looking a little more serious than I'm used to seeing , but totally put SOS to shame, he played the way I expected them to play. I loved it!!
Muska's style of music isn't quite what I would consider my cup of tea , but at that hour of the morning it worked for me. Great fun. !!!
The overall night I still rate pretty highly . We did get heaps of wonderful music. Great sound . The crowd was truly amazing !! So many friendly lovely people.
The thing I absolutely hated was the lighting on the dance floor There was just way too much of it!! Seems to be happening a lot at Brown Alley lately . Dan, there is no way I will accept that that lighting was bringing people onto the dance floor. Nightclubs should be dark !!
A real shame about the morning sets though . They apparently went to the casino instead.
If you think I was a bit hard look what a friend of mine wrote !!

SOS were absolute rubbish. Never have I been more dissapointed with a set. No groove, no bassline, no flow, no melody. Maybe if Desyn didnt spend so much time on fucking Twitter and actually did something? If you thought last night was empty wait till next time they tour because most of the punters that were there last night wont put up with that tripe again. They played about 5 decent tunes in a 4 hour set. The amount of times I thought, 'Shit their just taking the piss now'. Nothing wrong with the warm up, the club, or the crowd, SOS just sucked balls.
And before you ask, no I didnt have bad pillz.
