    Help me...my mac crashed!!!

    hard drive crashed always store my music on a back up HD well i haven't done it in about a year.....so i lost all my choons 24 gigs total

    anyone on here still on soulseek???? lost all my friends as well

    got a brand new mac out of it but still lost vids and pics

      shit happened to me a year ago, I hadn't done a time machine backup in like 3 months so I lost so much. I got my hard drive replaced but the big lesson learned was to do a time machine backup at least once a week or after I do alot of downloading activity.

      Time Machine is key when used, I know it sucks but take it as the learning experience to do more incremental backups.

                          I use Data Rescue II. It has helped me recovered files from a crash, works as long as the files haven't been over written. The downside is it doesn't recover the files with their proper names, so you need to preview every file to see what they are.

                                      I have recovered hard drives using Spinrite but unsure whether that works for macs.

                                              mmmm brand new mac, nice. sorry to hear about your file loss though, sounds like you should def think about getting a better backup plan obviously.

                                              my mac wasn't turning on, they replaced a few external parts for free, now it runs and looks brand new...macs are where its at...

                                                  We have G5, MacBookPro, and a Macbook. 2 laptops and a tower for 2 people.
