yep - i dont give money anymore to "starving children in africa" charities or any charity that uses prime time tv advertising to get their money...

Its so frustrating to give money to help people, only to have the companies spend it on their advertising budgets. ridiculous.

Nonsense statistics to be fair, so the stage is suppose to be made of Trees and they should sail to each venue on some sort of Noah's ark?

The environment was fucked long before U2 decided to do the 360 tour.. Sure ya might aswell blame All the festivals, Djs, rockstars around the world for the same crimes. BTW i think Bono is abit of sap but their music is decent enough.

Instead of Band Aid they should of had Starve Aid. Celebrity's hand cuff themselves together and starve until their governments did something worthwhile about Africa. I would pay money for that.

Iīm with you on this tought but in the other hand, at least they actually do something for children in Africa.. 60 millons dollars in 1984 is a lot of money.. And imo, thatīs the important thing.. Donīt care how much money they have cos they earn all that millons legally and giving so much joy to people who enjoy their music..

Canīt even dream to have that kind of money myself, but itīs a fact that i didnīt do NOTHING for childrens in Africa, so IMO the best thing i can do is at least not be unfair to people who actullaly does..

                  1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
                  2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
                  3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...

Some people must have too much time on their hands. That's so hypocritic to single them out and make weird analysis and statistics about their show gear lol...like they are the only committed musicians who try to transport a political/social message using their V.I.P status. If you expect a rich person to give all his money away, ask yourself if you would do it. U 2 did a lot in their history for a good cause either with own money or with the money they gathered thanks to their engagement. They use expensiv show stages on their tours since ages just like other major bands too...so what?

I've said this before I will give away 90% of the money I have in the bank right now if they Bono will.

In the 1980s Geoffrey Yates reported on how the rich world was persuading the third world using advertising pressure, that their traditional foods where inferior. Established nutrition was swapped for quick commercial gain.

Also that Doctors working in rural Mexican villages had reported that families would often sell its few eggs and chickens to buy coke for the father while the children waste away for lack of protein.

In 1980's Micheal Jackson, Mick Jagger & David Bowie where all advertising Coca Cola while telling us to feed the world

This thread is really counterintuitive to everything I've read and heard from very about over the years regarding Bono and U2. And a lot of what I've been told has come from individuals I have a great deal of respect for, and who are very well read on Bono's life continuum.

It was fun while it lasted...
