            But Songs was seminal for me, it marked a shift in their sound like U2's Zooropa and Pop.

                    Anything before Violator cannot stand with what came after it, in terms of production and sound quality of the mixing and mastering. I personally think ULTRA was their greatest sonic sounding album. But I still like the music on Violator the best.

                      Yeah, I was talking about sound quality and scope, not the song writing. On that department Violator might edge it for me too... Maybe.

                        For me it was of those pieces of music like Radiohead The Bends that has a flow track by track culminating in an overall larger feeling. Celebration has that dark sexiness to it and at every concert back in the mid and late eighties there was nothing but hot girls, DM played in town this weekend but went to LA to see Steely Dan instead, who without getting into another ranting thread are the musical equivalent of

                          there are just too many great songs on that.
