You are going to have to forgive me iffy I never heard a mix from you before only productions ... how did you mix this on cds or software?
So I gave this a go ...
I really thought the beginning was cool , with some haunting bjork and thom yorke vocals very well put together , then moving on to one of my fav. tracks of the moment which is Chaim - thrill you" was perfectly blend with that buttrich track , which i had for a long time and after buying it never gave it a go, not realizing it was so sweet .
Sunrise over mali is an evocative track... at that moment everything was fine but...and maybe i'm wrong i felt as if the gain volume went up too high from min 21 till 38min. I dunno mate i felt a little distortion there. Also those 2 tracks didnt do much for me.
I really like how you took the mix on a different direction from what i thought it was destined to do , putting "I try " brought back some memorires so did " ride " haven' t heard it in such a long time.
The gui borato remix that you did was sweet. Congrats on itmaybe I wouldn't have brought back" ride " into the mix again . "No turning" back was as good as it gets at that point of the mix.
The ending Planet Funk – Inside All the People (Harvey's Sleepy Ibiza mix) was superb ...
Cheers mate hope you do more mixes like this one.Comment

Look forward to giving this a listen, some interesting tracks on the mix.Originally posted by ShpiraSo came back last night...
Sven Vath was amazing...he played a god damn killer set...ended up going to that and came to at like 10 am in some whore house in south Amsterdam...no idea how I ended up there...friday was a bit of a blur got really drunk and visited several parties can't remember a whole lot to be honest hehe...saturday was probably the best day that I recall...started up in the nearest coffee shop and going from party to party...beautiful woman, beer and weed...finished the night by taking some shrooms and listening to an amazing elke kleijn set...sunday...i met a nice girl who worked at one of the coffee shops and ended up talking to her for like 6 hours...was supposed to meet her at some DnB party...but instead went for a steak and walked around red light district bars drinking and smoking...monday took it easy went to a coffee shop and took a taxi to airport....
All in all...I think I will be going back there some time soonOriginally posted by IlluminateLet me get this straight.
So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:
1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...

^^^ Was wasn't it !!
For me this mix epitomises my philosophy on mixes. It's a Dj having both the knowledge and the confidence to use all the music available , not just the latest. The right tune, in the right place, at the right time !!
In this instance all the sweeter because Nid was thoughtful enough to use a classic from the city that this mix was for !! Also paid homage to a great producer.
I've probably said this before but "Ride" was the first track I ever recognised on the dance floor.Still sends shivers up and down my spine!! Still love listening to the reaction it gets in Hernan's Moonpark

Re: Nomad in the Dark on Writemix with Harley Augustine on Kiss FM Melbourne
Thanks so much for the very kind comments guys. Haziel thanks for your well thought out review there. The gain volumes do go up around that time because of the tracks on there (e.g. the dousk remix of Dancing with an angel) were crappy vinyl rips to mp3.
That whole bit with Ride was improvised about 40 minutes before I had to send the mix in and I did it in one go so it was a little choppy. I was originally going to end with something else but I then I started thinking that this might be the only time I ever get to play on the radio in Melbourne (one of the cities I have always wanted to visit growing up watching Pakistan play Australia at the MCG) and I wanted to pay homage to one of its greatest producers and my hero Luke Chable. So that’s where the Ride bit came in.
Thanks again for taking the time to listen to it. Here is the audio with Harley’s very flattering intro. For some reason the audio quality is not very good. Harley told me that they were having PC problems at the radio station that day so that might have contributed to the dodgy recording.

Re: Nomad in the Dark on Writemix with Harley Augustine on Kiss FM Melbourne
Thanks for the mix and also for reminding us how beautiful this track really is.“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”
