Get ready for Villalobos the movie, starring Chilean DJ and musician Ricardo Villalobos. The equally maligned and beloved artist gets the introspective treatment which may shed some light on his mystique that has fascinated the club world since his rise on the scene. This film by clubland documentarian Romuald Karmakar will have its world premiere at the 66th Venice International Film Festival, September 8th, 2009.

The footage was shot with official permission at the famous Berghain Club in Berlin (Perlon Night@Panorama Bar, 05.09.200, at the Closing Partys of Cocoon@Amnesia (29.09.200, Monza@Privilege (02.10.200 and SONAR 2006. The film focuses in long interviews with Villalobos on how he thinks, how he hears and how he produces his music.

After the films 196 BPM (2003) and BETWEEN THE DEVIL AND THE WIDE BLUE SEA (2005), Karmakar's VILLALOBOS is the last part of a Trilogy about electronic music and club culture in the first decade of this century.

Yeah its brilliant track. I can remember it from my Bedrock 10.5 after party. I was with a Coronation Street actress and a children's TV presenter. Things got really intense. Memory of the year so far. LOL
