LIBATION w/ DJ Ian Friday & Nathan Adams Live :: 9/10

Libation Spins “Circles” With Nathan Adams

Vocal sensation Nathan Adams is making his NYC debut, performing his underground club hit “Circles” at Libation, ground zero for the Soul Revolution, on September 10th 2009.
Like R&B legends such as Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke and Raphael Saadiq, this burgeoning 19-year-old crooner honed his vocal skills at church. Singing before he could talk, he was a featured soloist by age 4 and learned the piano by age 6. Nathan has performed in several venues across Europe and Croatia and in August 2007, he won the prestigious “291 Show” at Hackney Empire, beating many other artists to the prize. Nathan was also a UK Unsigned finalist for 2008.
“Circles” is the first release from Tribe Records. Nathan’s vocal talents combined with the production of Zepherin Saint have spun success for the new label. The track’s melodic keys along with echoes of haunting synth waves, understated bass and intricate percussive beats is a hit with Libation’s disciples and House heads worldwide.
Libation is the brainchild of DJ Ian Friday of Tea Party Music and recording artist Manchildblack and is the central headquarters for the Soul Revolution. Their mission is to bring universal awareness to the Global Soul movement. Global Soul is a form of dance music deeply rooted in the rhythms of the African Diaspora. With influences from Africa, the Caribbean, South and Central America, it is a musical genre that celebrates the rich history of a people and their culture. It is a movement seeking to change musical status quo. It is a musical coup d'état, a revolution of the ears and collective consciousness.
Every second and fourth Thursday of each month resident DJ Ian Friday digs deep in the crates of his eclectic collection to explore the multi-dimensional sounds of this music and invite all to dance, shout, evoke the spirit, pump their fists in air and deliver hosanna to the glory of Global Soul! Currently held at the famous West Village hotspot, The Sullivan Room, Libation is a spiritual gathering that gives its patrons a full course of aural and visual stimulation. As the soul revolution’s minister of sound, Ian spins sermons that continuously keep the wood floors warm from a dancing frenzy. Guests are treated to the agile moves of world renowned dance collective and Libation hosts, Afro Mosaic Soul. The party's in-house resident artist is none other than MTV Art Battle Winner Concep, who, along with his crew is always on hand to paint live on a blank canvas or even on the body parts of willing participants.
During its three year existence, Libation has also had the pleasure of presenting some of Global Soul's most influential and well respected DJs and performers including: DJ/producer Osunlade, Tony Humphries, Ron Trent, DJ Spinna, Rich Medina, Peven Everett, Karizma, Kindred The Family Soul, Eric (Erro) Roberson, Stephanie McKay, Wunmi and King Britt. It has also served as the after party for the 2009 House Dance International conference and the off-broadway musical FELA!
