I love anything and everything that has to do with space. If you look at this photo, every single sparkle is a sun with a few planets around it.



Just goes to tell you how truly truly insignificant we are living on this blue dot, as compared to the vastness of space and the possibilities of life teeming elsewhere.

That hubble deep field is another unfathomably incredible image. A empty patch of the space no wider than a few cms was what the telescope was focused on for 10 days. "empty" patch being the key phrase here with no discernible star or celestial object otherwise visible when viewed for a moment through a telescope.

10 days of exposure to the light from the blank space and this is what hubble fucking found - http://www.hubblesite.org/newscenter...a/format/zoom/

each one of those dots is an entire frickin galaxy.
