Pioneer DJM, need some help here!

I?m going to buy a pair of turntables. I haven?t decided yet if thay will be the new Technics sldz1200 or the pioneer djm1200mk2. I?ve been reading all around the internet forums and they both have their + and -. The big - for the pios seem to be that they don?t have any effects at all, so then I should buy some mixer with effects.
If anoyne could give me some opinion about which mixer to buy, i would be grateful. I?m counting on spending around 800 dollars, not much more than that.
    thanks!

$800 is your budget for the two cd players and mixer?????
you can only get one used cdj at that budget.

No, around $800 for the mixer only. But I don?t know much about which of them is best at that budget.

as far as the cdj 1000 mk2. musicians friend has them for $999.00, plus you get a $150.00 rebate. www.musiciansfriend.com
The Technics digital turntable feels cheap and flimsy, and in my opinion is over priced.
Look at what everyone else is using.

as far as mixers.. Vestax are very nice. unless you are looking for a mixer with effects too. Then you are going to be paying a bit more.

either a DJM600 (if you want effects) or A&H xone 32 (if you want filters)

both built very well and good sound quality. some argue DJM isn't as good on sound qualioty but for home use its fine IMO.

the djm 600 itself is around $800.
Should I fuck you at that not until the ass, inject then tremendously hard bumschen and to the termination in the eyes yes?

Re: Pioneer DJM, need some help here!

I think I?ve made up my mind for the CDJ1000mk2, it?s a pitty they aren?t as good looking as the Techs, but that?s not what matters the most!
As for the mixers, the DJM600 is a but expensive. I?ve seen it arond $1100.
I?d prefer if it has some effects, as the pios turntables hasn?t got any. I?ve seen the DJM500, but it lacks some features the DJM600 do have. I?ve never djed before, but i?m one of those people addicted to music. I just can?t get on with my life if I don?t have fresh music every week. Now I have the money to buy my turntables, and I want to start with the best equipment I can get. I?m still looking for the correct mixer, but as i?m still learning about what the features do, then it?s a bit difficult to decide. My budget is around $800.
              Thanks a lot

By the way, thanks xeb for the info. I?ll look out for the A&X xone 32.
I think I prefer filters other than effects...
Is it important if the mixer has an optical output?

ebay is not your friend, unless you know what you are doing.

you may get the biggest trashed P.O.S. ever. Please be careful and gather the most information while shopping @ ebay. I have had a few friends burned lately due to some really crappy fucks. It is the holiday season and they know people are looking to get a steal of a deal.

get an allen & heath xzone...wayyy better than the djm 600 imho. you get what you pay for though, try and buy a good quality used one on ebay (as asfd said though, be careful).

well, duh, don't be a fucking moron with Ebay. But i've had zero problems with ebay, you just have to know what you're doing.

as for the allen and heath vs pioneer agrument...

i own the pioneer, and where i spin every week has an Allen and Heath.

For the type of music i spin, glitchy bouncy techno and tech house, i'd take the 600 any day over the AH.

I really don't give a piss about the filters on the AH, and i much prefer the sliders on the pioneer to the finger thingers on the AH.

4 band eq is nice, although the low end eq takes away a hell of a lot of the mids on the AH. Just have to get used to it.

I like playing on both, but wouldn't buy an AH for home use. Way overkill. The sound difference won't be heard on your crappy home system. The AH is made for the club, to be pushed on a serious system.

                        just my 02

^^^ i know Jenks. I was not attacking you. I was just stating that it would be terrible if someone dropped some bucks and got a box with a cd player in it. There have been some hacks lately on there, so it was just more of a word of caution.

i know man, i thought it was pretty much common knowledge not to be a doorknob with ebay.

but if you end up with a tonka truck, and oddly the auction you won was for a DJM600...please remove yourself from soceity, you = doorknob.

ive been using the djm 600 for 4+ years and really have no complaints. well, actually i do. my channel 3 is just about to die. the low end crackles when i adjust it. the channel fader needs to be replaced but thats rather easy to do yourself. just havent gotten around to it. you can find the djm 600's for less than $800 these days. with A&H taking over the pioneers are getting cheaper. Plus, for home recording, you dont need anything more than the 600. while the A&H mixers are just about the best on the market at the moment, its a bit hard justifying paying $300 or $400 more for their mixers. its all a matter of personal opinion.
