I met Juan in SLC back in 2004-ish. He was initially booked to play Axis, and when the club realized they weren't going to pull a crowd, they cancelled the show. Another club that was blocks away from Axis realized that a legend had just been dropped on his ass, and gave him the decks to make up for the inconvenience/disrespect.

It blew my mind that a man like him was only pulling 20-30 people. I think it was at that time that I realized people weren't willing to learn what it took to get dance music where is.

I'm a firm believer that it's better to have people that respect and value your music over a club full of e-tards that are only there to eat lollipops and make love to the speakers.
