this is terrible news. i really liked pantera's music, but regardless, it's just so fucked up that someone would do this.

what is with the reports saying only one member of the band was killed as far as they know...was vinnie or someone else shot too?

of course I am not serious. I am not a sick fuck. It sucks the guy didn't make it. That is why I had that the devil face afterwords.

      RIP.
OK...I knew you were better than that.
Of course you did, because you've made hundreds of lifelong friendships via a message board. just because you see someone post something every day doesn't mean that they're someone to think highly of... I'm not saying that you shouldn't think that way of him, but what makes you think "highly" of someone on a messageboard? People die every day, so it's nothing surprising. I might blame the media, but this event didn't affect me/phase me one bit. Does that make me someone that should get no respect?
OOOOOK...don't really know what warrented that response, but whatever. So it's impossible to think highly of someone's opinions or views from what they say on a messageboard? Do I know any of you as people??? No. Does that mean I haven't gotten a slight idea what you all are like as people from our delightful little conversations? I think so. Can I have gotten the impression that someone was a better person than to say "thank goodness" upon hearing of a senseless killing. Definitelty. Good enough answer??

I've always loved the "people die everyday" response. If it was someone you admired and was influencial in your life would you have the same response??

Thats not cool at all. Dimebag Darrel made Pantera, the one reason they were in existence. Dimbag had incredible fucknig talent. FYI he was playing for his band Damageplan, no idea who they are.

        RIP Dimebag

I've had some life-changing experiences from dimebags...does that count?

oh and for the record, I've heard of them, in fact seen them in concert a great number of years ago, and they were good. This is sad news indeed. RIP

So now the name someone goes by determines whether or not he was important to somelse or not??? Unbelievable. So if a guy who goes by the name Sasha or Dubfire or Meat Katie dies it means that much more. He was one of the best guitar players of all time, regardless of style of music. He influenced thousands to pick up guitars and make music of their own. That counts for nothing??

Just curious guy. Jeez Louise. 'Dimebag' isn't exactly a role model's name. I was just asking. 'Sasha' doesn't quite have the same conotation as 'Dimebag.' Certainly we can agree on that.

Respect to his guitar playing abilities.

^^^ok, how bout we change the dj example from sasha to the scumfrog, then does it not matter because of his non-role model's name?

I doubt 'Scumfrog' is anyone's role model. Come on, level with me.

I've had a few role models die, and yeah it sucks. Don't sweat dude, I'm definitely not trying to start some shit up... I just thought it sounded ironic that you said you thought highly of him, yet when someone with a lower post count say the type of shit that he said, people start flaming them like crazy. I was just trying to poke into a world of messageboards where, instead of names and post counts were shown, nothing but IP addresses were shown.

I don't know, I'll just shut up. Just seems like that situation would've been handled totally different if either of you were replaced with any other user.

Disagreed. I grew up really enjoying most of their music (hence the reason I paid my tribute with song titles from the band) and thought it was even cooler when they made the theme song for the Dallas Stars.
Man me too. Believe it or not I have scene pantera more than any other band.....PRobably at least 20 times....They were my band growing up in highschool in the early 90's.....this is very sad news to me
