Disagreed. I grew up really enjoying most of their music (hence the reason I paid my tribute with song titles from the band) and thought it was even cooler when they made the theme song for the Dallas Stars.
Man me too. Believe it or not I have scene pantera more than any other band.....PRobably at least 20 times....They were my band growing up in highschool in the early 90's.....this is very sad news to me
20 times!!! Damn, I would've loved to have seen them once. We were supposed to go in late 2000, but Phil broke his ankle and they cancelled the show in Sunrise, FL. When it got rescheduled I ended up not being able to go.

What freaks me out more than anything is I just saw Damageplan the night before Halloween at the House of Blues. I really went to see Shadows Fall, but seeing 2 of the founding members of Pantera play "Becoming" and "Walk" was cool as hell. At least I got to see him live before his life was cut short. The solo he played was

Thats right. I almost went to that show. But now I believe there must have been something besides the lack of money that kept me from going to that show. Dimebag was an awesome guitarist and will be missed all over the world. Funny guy and a heck of a performer.

It's been all over our local news tonight. It's really fucking strange to come home and find out one of your favorite guitarists you looked up to growning up was shot in the head by some fucknut. It makes me feel like finding out where that bastard who did this is getting buryied and pissing on that fuckheads grave.

I have not scene them in the last 7 years though....When i saw them was pretty much from 92 till 98. They used to play all the time up north in cleveland, oh where i grew up... I have been to some classic shows...Acutally one of the shows I was at was featured on there video "Vulgar Video"

at that show some lunatic jumped onto the full stack of marshall amps and pulled it down where it was hovering over the crowd (the stack was losely tied down with chains), i used to get my ass kicked at there shows....broke my ankly one time...was on cruches for a month

For those who like the band who never had the opportunity to see them live I reccomend the "Vulgar Video" it really represents the band well.

All 3 of their vidoes are awesome. You get a real glimpse of what their lives were like off of the stage. Looked like a shitload of fun to me.

I was a huge pantera fan.
Dimebag was a well respected guitarist and deservedly so.
he was one of the best hard rock guitarists of his day.

One of the first concerts I went to when I was a teenager was to see White Zomibe open up for Pantera. It was at the height of the Vulgar Display of Power album. I must have listend to that album a hundred times and before I saw them and they didnt disappoint. Hands down one of the best shows I have ever been to. Needless to say I was shocked when I heard the news like everyone else. He will be missed. RIP.

That was a great tour. I caught them in Columbus then with Crowbar and a group called My Sisters Machine. Pantera was amazing, but I got aught up in how heavy and brutal Crowbar's music sounded. Lots of pain in those lyrics.

The bouncer did not die, it was one of the roadies that Damageplan had on their staff.
