LA Weekly Interview with Desyn Masiello

Great interview, Desyn is hoping to restore the "essence " of progressive...

Love this quote- "There is a lot of trumpet sounding tracks and Chilean goat farmer chanting going on at the moment in some of the more minimal tracks, and this stuff is absolutely awful: Anything taking minimal in that direction will be its downfall."

I like the Chilean goat farmer chanting though

Me too! Great interview from Desyn! I wouldn't mind seeing him spin solo for a change though.

It actually made me angry , if he had done what he said in that interview, instead of standing there smoking a cigar [we are no smoking] while he tweeted, we might have had a good night.

They lost half their dancefloor. !! As for there not being much good music out there , that's a joke!! There are amazing amounts of great ,dare I say progressive, music out there.!! But you have to look !!

Btw I don't mind Chilean goat farmers either

I don't want to see him in any context. I would see Omid or Demi , they at least played some music!!

Desyn surprised me the most at the NY Music festival by playing drum & bass. Was he pissed or something that night? I'm still wondering why he played D&B in his set. It was weird and he cleared most of the tent out.

Before it wasn't so much about who was playing. When I started to go out I didn't care about the DJ or the act, only about the event and the vibe. I think that's what is important to get back to one day.

                    ^that's a really good point!

It was fun while it lasted...

The music makes the vibe. No amount of vibe will improve a shit set.

lmfao, I interpreted what desyn was saying to include the music of course, so...

does music not tend to create the vibe? lol
