So a couple of weekends ago I decided to finally begin househunting. I'm looking to purchase a condo and went to a newly developed community (Avalon Park for those in Orlando) to get some information. After talking to a representative of the builder I decided to drive out to where the lots are that were just released and are getting ready to be built upon. The guy hands me a map and I start driving. A few minutes later after making a left here and a right there, I come up on Clarkson Court which is where my particular residence would be if I decided to build with them. I didn't think much of the name of the road until I happened to pass Aiken Way on my left heading back to the cul-de-sac.
Have we become that idiotic as a society that we're now naming roads in a subdivision after pseudo-stars from a shitty "reality" pop music t.v. show? That combined with the view of smoke stacks from a power plant from where the back porch would be and the fact that there's a power grid that is probably 500 feet from the back yard sealed my decision not to build with these people. I still can't believe it though, Clarkson Court and Aiken Way. I'll try to scan an image of the map if I get a chance, I nearly shat myself.
