    Any accoustic guitar players here?

I'm going to start having guitar lessons, but first I need a guitar!

I went to my local guitar shop and was recommended a Takamine eg440sc and an Ibanez ewc30.

I suppose guitars are like decks, cameras and cars... you have a favourite brand that you'd defend to the hilt.

What would you recommend for a beginner... the budget is up to £400, and I'd rather spend more money now, and own something I can grow into, rather than something I'll need to replace in a year because I've 'outgrown' or 'out played' it.

Takamine have a good rep - you may be best going second hand and then upgrading when you have a better idea of what you're looking for.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

Just started myself mate. Got given a Squire. It's a cheap version of a Fender, but it'll do for nothing!! Just got a new set of strings and it sounds spot on!!

if you go electric, then you can get a cheaper one and upgrade certain parts as you get better.

i bought one of these for 120$ when i left for korea and it's really quite nice:

yamaha makes really nice student-level instruments too

i don't play much acoustic, but your best bet is to have a friend check the instrument out before you buy.

Takamine are expensive. There“s an "economic" line of TAYLOR guitars, they are excellent, like takamine, I think for 400 you can get one.
btw, Jasmine is Takamine“s economic line, thay are cheap and sound very nice.

Taylor Guitars is a leading manufacturer of acoustic and electric guitars. As well you can build to order via our custom guitar program. Taylor guitars are widely considered among the best-sounding and easiest to play guitars in the world.

          The Hardest Working Guitars

Jasmine Guitars Company aims to improve on design and quality, but at the same time maintaining simplicity and ease of use without compromise.
          It“s a spiritual thing!

haven't strummed on an acoustic in some time...

though, i bought one of those crate amps + electric guitar a while back, and it's served me swell for being such a cheap deal.

get what you think feels best for you right now, and just go from there. it's all you man.

Nice one, thanks for the advice. I've got another shop to go this weekend, so I'll see what they suggest too.

I'm looking forward to learning something new!

Cort guitars are known for being a good quality cheap guitar for beginners you might give it a look. I have an acoustic/electric one and it is like butter on your fingers.
