Pole Folder comes to Chicago
October 8nd, 2009 Chicago, IL
Chicago -- The year is 2001 and progressive is king. Anxious club-goers around the world wait with baited breath for the newest release from Global Underground, this time from Los Angeles with John Digweed at the helm. To kick off this now classic mix compilation, John chose an atmospheric, darker track called "Apollo Vibes" from a then virtually unknown Belgium producer going by the name Pole Folder; a track passed over the DJ booth from Pole Folder to John himself that would eventually find itself signed to John's label, Bedrock Records. And with that, Pole Folder was no longer a virtual unknown.
Pole Folder is not just a DJ, but a producer with a keen and sharp ear using all his musical talent, training and experience to create and mix some of the underground's most lush progressive and emotive electronic music. Not content to just mix in the booth, Pole Folder has added live instrumentation to his DJ set-up, as well as samplers and other tools, which allows him to construct live edits and truly build his set over time, entrancing the listeners with his prowess and skills. Both Frisky Radio and Proton Radio have become homes for Pole Folder, with his Destinations and 80Hz Sessions on both stations respectively being some of the most listened to on each station in any given month.
With releases on Bedrock, Frisky, Proton and Hope to name a few, his productions have always been at the heart of his career. In 2008, Pole Folder set up La Tour Records to provide a touchstone his own style of progressive and to champion others with the same eye to detail when it comes to stellar productions. With his latest, "Hate Myself," Pole Folder has recruited Sasha on the remix duty and will be released in November of 2009.
That said, Aural Matrix is proud to present Pole Folder for his debut show in Chicago on October 8th, 2009 at the Victor Hotel (311 North Sangamon). Local DJ Jon Cue will be on opening duties, ensuring all are fully locked in a groove by the time Pole Folder takes the decks. We hope that you will join us for what will prove to be a night of pure electronic, progressive bliss.
