Funky Destination - 'Gimme Some Disco' (Python, Yura Popov, Banx mixes) - Nightshade Music NSL005
exclusively at Beaport (available worldwide Oct 20th)
Listen to Samples/Purchase at Beaport
audio:
Eclectic group of mixes covering most sub genres from Python, Jairus Miller, Yura Popov and Banx of this
funky pumpin house track. The original mix comes in with groovy beats, funky bass and guitar, sax stabs,
vocal samples and all things funky for one last blast of summer. For remix duties, we once again look to
Russia and the talented crew behind the excellent Carica labels, Python take things a bit deeper making
use of the guitar, vox and sax over some darker techno chords in their funky, clubby progressive tech
house monster with a massive break. Yura Popov took it deeper and techier still with a sparse simple beat,
deep techno chords and haunting use of the vocal and guitars, in his minimal, proggy tech house mix. Jairus
Miller took it another direction entirely, his mix takes a classic breakbeat, syncopated bass and stabs and
layers in the vocal, guitar and sax from the original in an atmospheric, melodic booty shakin piece of music.
Banx rounds out the remixes with something for the minimal techno set, making hypnoitic patterns of the guitar
loop over a huge deep kick, with simple effective beats and big dynamic changes throughout.
Bonus Track: We've also included Yura Popov's remix of our last Nightshade release, Deep Future "Distance Love".
Yura takes a driving techy beat and brings a deep dirty rumbling bass in, trippy techno percussion and big
swirling dynamics over the original tracks "ecstacy" sample.
Deep Future - 'Distance Love'(Joel Armstrong, Beat Factory, Python mixes) - Nightshade Music NSM018
support: Hernan Cattaneo, Dave Seaman, Eelke Kleijn, Jaytech, Kiss 100, Beatport
available at most digital retailers, Beatport, Itunes, DJDownload, Amazon...
Remixes from Joel Armstrong, Beat Factory and Python compliment the excellent original production from Deep
Future (a.k.a. Dj Santa Cruz, Uruguay). The original mix and edit combine new school tech house and progressive
flavors, with an old school techno feel and retro Joey Beltram reminiscent "ecstacy" samples. Deep bass rumbles
under a shuffly beat, a higher synth bass makes for the lead melody as choppy vocal bits echo throughout.
Simple arpeggios, big pads and techno style bells change throughout, with a massive breakdown. This track is
in a style of its own, suited to our Nightshade sound. Joel Armstrong's remix starts in with a catchy tech
house groove that grabs your attention and will get bodies moving immediately. The funky bass pounds with the
simple techy melodies, as the chords and arpeggio from the original wash over, big dynamics and plenty of funk
in this perfect mix of tech, melody and upbeat house. Beat Factory make their Nightshade debut, and they
deliver the goods with their techy melodic sounds, making excellent use of the original melodies and samples
while hinting at bigger progressive dynamics that will rock the clubs. A techy club beats layered with an edgy
darker groove and some brighter melodic hits, blend smoothly into a more intricate rhythm and melody, saving
the biggest melodies and dynamics for the breakdown. No surprise that Global Underground and Baroque have
enlisted this talented duo for upcoming releases. Python rounds out the remixes with a deeper, more techno
influenced mix. Dark chord stabs and a boomy kick drum slowly incorporate bits and pieces of the original,
adds more melodic elements as the track builds and swells into a big, deep, atmospheric techy progressive remix.
