That Dubai scene is really happening ... enjoy Lukes set DestroyZone.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

Awful mate. He played really really hard from the get-go. It was almost Trance I reckon, I hated every minute of it and has never been this disappointed (except when I saw Jose Padilla earlier this year ;o) in my life with a DJ set... I dont know what happened, but I had to leave after 1 hour, I really tried but nah... nothing :o(
To be fair, the sound system at Chi Garden is hardly the best, too much reverberation from the sound, I wish Dubai clubs would invest money into a 'proper' sound system rather than just focusing on bringing big names.....that said, the turnout was quite poor, perhaps due to it being a slightly muggy night, I got there at about quarter to 1, reckon Hernan must have been on for about half an hour by then, played some melodic stuff in the beginning, after dropping Mistral (at which point I was pogoing up and down and texting Mo at the same time LOL) he went into a deeper and darker route, some great immersive, heads down stuff, and then went into the - dare I say it - destroy zone ;-) with Christian Smith's remix of The Search which had me jumping around like a maniac again.....about 15 minutes from the end it was Reflections time, the Petar Dundov remix which worked really well on the crowd, getting them into a hypnotic frenzy.....finished up with what's turning out to be THE set closer of the year, need I even say it? OK, I will, Lamur :-) He looked pretty eager to play on but the spoilsports at the club were cutting down the sound.....
Managed to have a quick chat with him at the end and even a pic, great, down to earth bloke, we discussed Argentina's chances of making it to the World Cup, in his words 'I'm not worried about the qualification, it's when we get there, our team is too arrogant' haha...I think in my heavily drunken state I even said he was 'as much of a legend as Diego' haha
So all in all a good night, but I have my usual gripes about the Dubai clubbing scene, which results in me focusing my efforts to always make the big gigs outside of this place....
Some cool pics and vids to follow once I wrap my head around today, managed only 4 hours of sleep :-(
