This weeks show is a glimpse at some of the tracks that make up Bedrock 11 (released Monday and available in CD, Vinyl and Digital formats).
No doubt you've heard many of these productions over the past few weeks - funnily enough, when these are captured together, it shows just how strong a label Bedrock is. There are big names and big producers (Alexy Dolby, Zabiela, Spooky and Timmo Maas) alongside the newer names and producers Dirty Mongrel (aka Glenn Morrison), Marc Marzenit, current hot property Alan Fitzpatrick and Erphun (who also provides this weeks Guest mix).
The diversity, variety and range of music on offer is of tremendous credit to the Bedrock label. Rather than going for anthems or a strictly defined style it more a case of the quality and integrity of the production.
The almost funky groove of Dirty Mongrel's Cream leads into the beautiful Binary Star Systems and the great tracks keep on coming. Diggers pronounces Reflections "a summer monster", something I honestly can't disagree with - although this weeks version sounds like it's either speeded up or an unreleased uptempo version (note to JD for Matter - we love to savour the full 10 minute lusheness of this track and get lost it's beautiful melody). There's tons of others that we're all getting more familiar with and also a rework of Bedrock classic Tone Depth - Rumblefish (a personal fav of mine !).
Hopefully this gives a great flavour of Bedrock 11, if you like the tracks invest in 11. At a time of (cough) illegal downloads it's important to remember that smaller labels need revenue to survive and keep searching out new artists/talents that perhaps don't generate big sales, but do provide fresh and exciting tracks for the sets and mixes we love (and get for free). At a time when day to day living costs are on the up Bedrock 11 bucks the trend and is available at a bargain price - you won't be disappointed !

erphun (Er-Fun) - farsi – the state and ability of being on a higher spiritual level.
It may have been fate that Erphun's very first gig was on Halloween, because his music is brooding, pounding, moody and transformative, as if from another realm entirely. His ability to build a mood is mesmerizing and transports the listener to that alternate spiritual level that his moniker infers. Having spun around California with residencies for Naked, Flirt and Hotel California and playing at 1015 Folsom (San Francisco), Sevilla (Las Vegas), MINC (Dallas), Broadway (San Diego), Voodoo Lounge (Las Vegas), Risqu (Las Vegas, New Year's Eve 2004), and the Shelbourne Hotel (Miami, Winter Music Conference) , Erphun began to make his mark.
Erphun's music has been spun in clubs all over the world and is succinctly summed up by Steve Lawler as a "deep, dark and underground unique sound" that trademarks his pieces. With releases on ViVa MUSiC, Oliver Klein's Mutekki and Audio Therapy, and more recently to Bedrock Records, his name is now instantly recognizable among the tech-house, minimal, techno world of spinning producers who globe trot his compositions to be dropped on every conceivable audience. Erphun is also a highly sought after re-mixer for artists who want to hear the 4AM version of their pieces.
