Jimmy Van M & Luke Fair, last Friday night in Chi-town!

All I have to say is wow!... after a horrible drive...(6 hours) shitty weather, the crack heads on the subway (redline) and everything else that went wrong we finally got to the club.

arrived around 1am and all of our troubles disappeared with the amazing tracks that birthday boy Jimmy Van M was throwing down... techy, sweet basslines that was rocking the club... good amount of people there, great club.. a lot of fine ladies, the night was getting better by the second... then it got even better with Luke Fair entering the dj booth.

He started out banging with his sweet style of groving house.. recognized some of the tracks.. many of them coming from his Krystal mix, but many that I havent heard before.. one of my favorite djs, what an amazing set.

then they started tag teaming.. by then I was wasted so I don't recall too much of what went on but I remember those two just rocking it.. I was in VIP by then and making an ass of my self when making small talk to the duo in between tracks.. yeah I was that guy,

woke up the next morning, dont remember how we got back to the hotel (jesus must of walked us home) but I do know that I had a sweet night.. great combination of talent and tracks throughout the night..

anyone else there? any thoughts?... I really wish someone recorded that set

It's been a while since I last heard something of Van M. So he's still rockin' it huh. Great to hear.

Girlfriend and i met several of our friends from across the country, about a group of 8, in chicago this weekend to party. I wish Zabiela wouldn't have cancelled, but luke fair was a nice addition. I probably would have skipped it if it was just Sleepy Van M, but Luke brought decent tunes. We were right next to the dj booth in the VIP too InSight, i'll bet i stepped on your feet.

Luke even played a few tunes i enjoyed and actually play myself, i was impressed. Tune of the night, that wicked white remix of Kelis- 'Trick Me', wish i knew who put that together. Totally lost the plot when that one dropped. That record is sick. Props luke...Van M....not so much. When he came on, we headed to the RedRoom for the clicky bounce. That guy in there was tearing it up. Over all, was great just hanging with the large group of friends. Bottle service is totally the way to go. I have lots of pics, i'll see if i can get around to uploading them. Have more from Mazi and Tripwire @ Vision sat night.

We closed down both clubs down both nights, but have to say, MAzi and Tripwizzy destroyed Vision. Complete wreck. Sunday drive back to the STL was ...not fun. I'm not running on a full tank this morning, god love coffee. Legal crack.

Mazi was off imo Saturday night, wasted to say the least... Not a very stellar performance on his half, he stole much of Tripwire's energy each time Tripwire handed the decks over to Mazi... Dissapointing to say the least.. But yeah, Tripwire destroyed.. Each of the two times I've seen Mazi and Tripwire, it's always been all Tripwire.. Hopefully there'll be a time when I can see him solo in all his glory.

Luke Fair as usual kicked ass... I was in the DJ Booth for beginiing of Van M's set but had more fun on the dance floor.. Later that night some girl in the left VIP booth (the right one if you are looking at it from the dancefloor, hope it wasn't yours Jenks) started complaining about all sorts of stuff saying I stepped on her foot which was a load of bullshit and saying In-Sight spilt a Heiniken on her.... Besides her bitching it was a damn good night....

Oh Mazi was hammered. Heard him totally wreck one mix, and that was his last before going to sleep on the stairs behind the dj booth. lol.

@ Soundbar, we were in the right VIP booth, (the left one if you're looking at it from the dancelfoor.) Wasn't my girl that got stepped on. lol.

Yeah I left around 2:30... Mazi just wasn't doing it for me and I had already seen them before for Holden... So 3 hours was plenty.. Wish I could have seen Mazi falling asleep on the stairs, embarssing I bet to say the least... You get a headline spot in your hometown and get fucked beyond belief.. Classic!

Mazi is a resident at vision. Not that that makes it acceptable to get hammered, but, not like it's the last time he'll play there either. I've seen bigger jocks more wasted than that and blow their gig. I was at the holden, tripwire, mazi show too, was a rockin night. Shit, next time you're headed to chicago for a show, hit me up, we go there all the time.

Yeah I know Mazi's a res at Vision.. But I don't often see him getting the 'headline' spot @ that venue.. I just figured more from him when you get a better spot time... Got to give him benefit though, imo he was damn good at mixing for as fucked up as he looked... Been plenty of other DJ's who have gotten more wasted and not been able to pull it off (cough Sandra Collins cough) Got to cut the man some slack every now and then, we're all just human

Yeah I'll hit you up next time I go to a show...
