I saw DJ Dan at Simon's in Gainesville, FL sometime in '97 or '98 and he was unbelievable. I was hoping someone here actually had a copy of the mixtape from that night and could post it. Thanks!!

I really don't think so. Although I would've loved to have at this one. The one I was at was DJ Dan alone as the headliner. Hopefully someone can come up with it somewhere.Comment

Dan either played an electoliner track or that track where the record sounds like it scratches during the song several times (which may be an electroliner track too). Sorry I cant think of the track names and am not motivated enough or have enough time to figure them out.

all we can come up with is the 7/3/96 party. the following year same time period (i think) was almost the exact same line up (if not exactly the same as the flier above).Comment

he does seem to be bigger in this market. he's one of the best high energy club dj's in america (IMO). however, i have never really liked his transition to electro. albeit, i will still pay money to see him no matter what he spins. the energy in the club is there time in and time out. saw him last december (i think) in denver and it was a blast as always (electro or not).
his commercial stuff (ie cd's and some of his tracks have never given a good impression of his style in the club - they sound completely different to me). that difference would be enough to turn me off of ever wanting to listen to him, had I not been exposed to him in the 90s.

Dan' set this^ night was awful, IMO. Some of the worst, dragged out breakbeat ever. You're not missing anything as far as not having a copy of this set. Now, when Dan played at Simons the first time as a last-minute replacement for Garth, he tore it up! That set I would love to have in the collection.
