2009 has been a great year for gui boratto; he released his second artist album; brilliantly remixed the likes of moby, simian mobile disco, sam taylor-wood & the pet shop boys and bomb the bass; created one of the years best essential mixes (a hopeful hint at what’s to come), then perfectly capped it all by entering the djmag top 100.

And it’s with his fast-rising dj status he continues to focus as he kick-starts 2010 with his first ever compilation. Gui’s unique, melodic style has won him fans from many electronic genres around the world and will ideally translate to the compilation format, which will no doubt be met with eager anticipation.

    Says gui…

"i'm very proud to be part of the renaissance mix collection. This compilation is the perfect canvas for me. It’s a great opportunity to show my ever-increasing djing, putting out tracks from fellow djs, producers and friends that i really like and admire; not to mention some of my own exclusive/unreleased material. It's a big challenge that i'm really enjoying!"

    roll on the new year!

renaissance: The mix collection – gui boratto – is out 25th january 2010

Yeah I'm kinda surprised by the cover and Boratto, can't say I've been overly impressed by his mixes.

God awful artwork on the cover, and this is not his first compilation/mix cd.

How the hell do I know that and Renaissance doesn't???

Anyway, looking forward to this. Should be interesting.

Strange choice. Would have made a better GU NuBreed.

Really interested to see what he comes up with. Chromophobia is one of my favourite albums, unfortunately I don't think that Take My Breath Away lived up to it.

Sounds tasty, and he should do a Balance series, it would be interesting to hear a different range from him

Think he peak about a year ago Guy J sort of stole his thunder, maybe a Guy Gerber Nu Breed would be cool. Motorcitysoul, Paolo Mojo, or maybe NID.

All in all...I think I will be going back there some time soon

So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:

                          1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
                          2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
                          3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
                          4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...

                          Am I close here?

the addicted mix is tight. i'm hoping he doesn't go too producer showcase here because his taste in other producer's music is great. the essential mix from this year is pretty good. he used a lot of tracks from the recent album that i didn't like individually which speaks for his djing i think. this could be really cool...
